What is your job title?
Operator, mainly assembly and control
What are your tasks / What is your role at AMD Electronique?
I work in production, so assembly of parts (clips, washers, etc.) in manual and semi-automatic assembly. And I mainly check parts, especially in the space sector because it is a very demanding sector where there is no room for error. So I make sure that the parts have no defect, by checking under binocular, 100% of the parts in a unitary way. I also do unit control and packaging for certain customers or other parts that require a high level of quality. I manage everything from A to Z, from the green light (validation of the first quality tests) to the end of the OF.
How long have you been working at AMD Electronique?
I have been with AMD Electronique for 25 years. I’m already retired but I’ve stayed on part-time.
What are you proud of in your work?
I can manage everything by myself, and they trust me, that’s the most important thing for me, i.e. they know that they can entrust me with critical parts. This trust is important for me, because behind it, I know that I am autonomous and responsible for my pieces, which is rewarding.
Is there a professional achievement that has marked you within the company?
I’m happy to be responsible for space and critical parts in general, because thanks to this, I’ve become more qualified. For example, I can see defects that I didn’t see before or that others don’t necessarily see.
If you had to describe AMD Electronics in 3 words?
Know-how, trust and respect. Because it’s a feel-good company. There is a wellness at work that I never experienced at my previous job. The company is clean, the colleagues are benevolent, you don’t have the jitters when you arrive at work! I could never imagine continuing to work after retirement in a stressful company. But here everything is going well, the proof is that I’m even here after my retirement!
Finally, if you had to recall one memorable memory from your years at AMD Electronique, what would it be?
I have a lot of very good memories, but the company days are really special moments. All the days organized every year where all the colleagues take the time to enjoy together, that makes for good memories. I can’t choose just one
